    Happy 15th birthday to our Christmas baby, Camille Happy 15th birthday to our Christmas baby, Camille!!!🎄She brings tremendous joy and light to her family and friends, and we thank God for her life!! I never imagined myself as a mom of 4 kids, and my pregnancy with Camille was hard because I felt so overwhelmed already. I couldn’t foresee the new blessings to come, and one night as I struggled with adding another child, I remember my mom telling me, “You’re going to be SO glad you have Camille, especially when your older girls go to college. I don’t know what I’d do without you and Krissie.” (Krissie and I are #4 and #5 in our family). Well, it turns out my mom was right, and I’ve thought about this statement repeatedly this past year as we prepare to launch our 3rd daughter and just have Camille at home. She’s been a blessing since day one, and I don’t know what I’d do without my Christmas baby who is living proof that God’s plan is always better than mine. Camille, you are kind, tender, intuitive, joyful, optimistic, funny, smart, and beautiful inside and out. You always see the best in people and love making new friends. Daddy and I are so proud of you and we can’t wait to see what #15 has in store. We love you more than you’ll ever know and feel very grateful to be your parents!!!❤️

    What a blessing to celebrate my dad’s 89th birth What a blessing to celebrate my dad’s 89th birthday today!!! He is the BEST, and I still call him for advice all the time because he’s so wise and full of love and clarity. Thank you, Lord, for giving us Papa!!! We adore him and feel incredibly lucky to know and be loved by him!!
    Merry Christmas from the Kampakis family!🎄We di Merry Christmas from the Kampakis family!🎄We did cards for the first time in 4 years(thanks to a summer photo shoot with the amazingly talented @heatherswannerphotography) and I get nostalgic as I look back and realize how much our family has changed over 20+ years. It’s true that “babies don’t keep,” and I still remember taking that first Christmas photo with baby Ella like it was yesterday. What a gift to see our babies grow up and watch their sweet evolution - and to get Christmas cards from friends whose kids I’ve watched grow up too😍 Whatever season of life you’re in, we wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas and many blessings in the new year!
    As moms, we expect our daughters to master many of As moms, we expect our daughters to master many of the skills that grown women haven’t mastered. We get frustrated with their conflicts, yet more often than not, we fail to give them the tools to respond maturely when a conflict occurs. We can’t rely on the world to teach these skills because the world is training them to have disposable relationships - to write people off at the drop of a hat, which is creating an entire generation of young people who will have no long-term relationships, no relationships that last and go the distance. Little girls who don’t get along become big girls who don’t get along, so let’s coach our daughters on this crucial skill. Let’s remember that being able to resolve conflict is the #1 predictor of success in marriage (according to America’s top couples’ therapist) and when we teach this skill, we set our daughters up to win in their friendships, their career, and even their future marriage. Excited for Marie Claire and this new adventure, I may cheer for a different team, but I’ll always cheer for her, and it’ll be fun getting to experience Auburn all over again with her!! #senioryear #classof2025 #auburn #auburnbound #collegedecisions
    As we approach Camille’s birthday this month, I As we approach Camille’s birthday this month, I have a shout-out for all the youngest kids in a family, the “babies” who get underestimated. The stereotype of the youngest child is that they are spoiled and helpless after being waited on hand and foot, but most moms I know say the opposite is true: Their youngest could run their home (and the world) and is very self-sufficient. That’s the case in our home as Camille learned early that if she wants something done now, it’s best to take matters into her own hands. I’ll never forget looking over one day when she was 8 years old to see her making eggs. She got tired of waiting on me as I tended to her sister, and I think that’s usually the story of the youngest. They figure things out while we’re busy focusing on the immediate needs of the big kids. Harry and I laugh that Camille’s the one who holds down the fort if we’re gone. She can make breakfast, wake her sisters up, take care of the dog, and basically play mom. Her sisters happily let her claim this role, and I like to tell her - especially when I come home from Black Friday Christmas shopping and see that has the Christmas decorations up - that she’s a better mom than me😅 All this to say, youngest kids are awesome. And when you’re the 4th child like Camille, you enter the world as the family mascot, the one who brings everyone closer and gets dragged around to all the events (which means learning to adapt quickly and sleep anywhere!). Your childhood looks very different than your siblings’ childhood, but what your parents can’t give you for lack of capacity, your siblings fill in the gaps. As you influence them and they influence you, your family bonds in new ways. Over time you build a shared history of stories that often have you as the family glue🤍
